Crews from Chester, Deeside, Wrexham and Buckley, the Incident Response Unit from Deeside and the Environmental Protection Unit from Wrexham are currently in attendance at a chemical incident at a factory on River Lane Industrial Estate, Saltney.

The initial call was received at 9.55hrs this morning, Wednesday April 9^th.

It is believed that two cleaning agents have been mixed, causing a release of toxic vapour.

The numbers of casualties believed to have inhaled chemicals is thought to be 13.

North Wales Fire and Rescue Service has been working closely with the Welsh Ambulance Service NHS Trust and Countess of Chester Hospital and have decontaminated a number of casualties as a precaution.
