Fire at terrace properties in Holyhead

Posted

Firefighters have been dealing with a fire at a terrace of houses in Ffordd Feurig, Holyhead.

Crews were called to the incident at 22.14hrs on Monday 28 July when four fire appliances, two from Holyhead, one from Rhosneigr and one from Llangefni, together with an aerial ladder platform from Bangor, were mobilised to the scene.

Firefighters were faced with a well developed fire affecting the roof space of three properties in the terrace. Four sets of breathing apparatus and two hose reel jets were used to fight the fire and prevent it spreading. There was significant damage to the roof of one of the properties.

Ten people from four properties within the terrace were evacuated but no one required treatment for any injuries.

A joint investigation into the exact circumstances of the fire is being carried out by North Wales Fire and Rescue Service and North Wales Police.
